Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches

I’m not a huge sandwich fan, but Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are probably a favorite of mine. From start to finish, this takes about half an hour and it heats up well so this is a good make-ahead meal. You can also make this with chicken and it’s just as good!

This is a great game day option if you’re hosting a watch party. That being said, Go Chiefs! ❤️💛🏈

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches

  • 1 lb Flat Iron Steak
  • 2 Bell Peppers (any color)
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 8 oz Thinly Sliced Provolone Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 Hoagie Rolls
  1. Slice your steak into thin pieces. If you leave your steak slightly frozen, it is much easier to do this.

  2. Slice your bell peppers and onions.

  3. Heat a large pan to medium-high heat. Melt your butter and add your steak. Season with salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Once finished cooking, place your steak and its juices in a bowl.

  4. Add your bell peppers and onions to the pan and cook until slightly brown. If you want crunchier vegetables, cook for a shorter time. If you want them softer, cook at a lower temperature for a slightly longer time.

  5. Add your steak and juices back to the pan, mix and let this cook together for 1-2 more minutes. Place 4-5 slices of your provolone on top of your mixture, turn off the heat, and place the lid on top. Let this sit until the cheese has melted.

  6. Place your hoagie rolls on a baking sheet, and place 2 slices of cheese in each roll. Keep them open and broil 3-4 minutes or until cheese is melted. Keep a close eye on this so you don’t burn your bread.

  7. Place your steak and veggies in your hoagie rolls and enjoy!

You can use any steak you like. Chuck is just one of my favorites.
