I remember at some point graduating from ordering Orange Chicken, to discovering the beauty of Bourbon Chicken and never turning back. I actually forgot how much I enjoyed it. It also brings back memories of me sitting in the food court at the mall with my best friend. Any time my food is associated with a good memory, I love it that much more. So here’s to my teenage years spent at the mall ❤️
If it’s been a really long day, you already know what drink would go well with this 😉
Crockpot Bourbon Chicken
- 3 lbs Chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)
- 1 cup Bourbon
- ¼ cup Soy sauce
- ⅓ cup Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger (grated)
- 1 Shallot (chopped)
- 2 Garlic cloves
Turn your crockpot on high and set for 6 hours.
Cut your chicken thighs into cubes and whisk together your remaining ingredients. Add to the crockpot and cook for about 6 hours.
Serve over rice and enjoy!
If your sauce isn’t as thick as you’d like once finished cooking, add everything to a large saucepan and cook for about 5 minutes or until the sauce reaches the consistency you’d like. Just be careful not to cook it for too long because the sugar in the sauce can burn quickly.
