Cranberry Apple Crisp

This has to be one of my favorite recipes mostly because of the original version of this. It’s comedy (at least to me it is). I was probably about 10 and this was the first recipe I had ever written. I have no idea where I got the inspiration. Maybe I was watching a cooking show or maybe I had gone out to eat and wanted to make my own. All I know is that if you find obnoxious 10-year-olds funny, then keep scrolling and look at the original below. That being said, I’ve made a few updates. This recipe is a little less obnoxious. But, by all means, do what you want and try the original if that’s what your heart desires ♥️.

Apple Crisp

I use 3 types of apples because each one has a slightly different texture and level of sweetness, but use any apples you like. This has the perfect blend of sweet and tart for me, but if you like sweeter, add more sugar and/or leave out the cranberries.apple-crisp-filling.jpg

Cranberry Apple Crisp

  • 3 Jonagold Apples
  • 3 Red Delicious Apples
  • 3 Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 Cups Fresh Cranberries
  • ⅔ Cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Cup Crushed Graham Crackers
  • ⅔ Cup Instant Oatmeal
  • ½ Cup Chopped Walnuts
  1. Peel, core, and chop your apples.

  2. In a large bowl combine your apples, cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. In a large pan/skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add your apple mixture. Cook your mixture for 10-15 minutes, occasionally stirring.

  4. Preheat your oven to 350° F.

  5. In a medium bowl, add your graham crackers, oatmeal, and chopped walnuts. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter and mix until completely combined.

  6. Pour your apple filling into a large casserole dish, then add your topping. Bake for 30 minutes and enjoy!
